October might be over, but the fight against cancer goes on. 8 years ago, just before my daughter turned one, I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. I tried to joke, that out of all the cancers, I picked a good one. Colon cancer can kill, but is also treatable with chemotherapy and you do not loose your hair. Which I know, sounds silly, but I was worried about that. I was worried, scared and afraid that I would not be there for my daughters first day in school. The second picture below was taken the day before the surgery and I was not even able to look at the camera.
After surgery I went through 6 months of chemo and one more surgery, to fix the herniated incision side. I was told that while I was able to get pregnant, I might not be able to carry a child due the mesh implant I received during the second surgery. Thankfully years later I was given the green light to have another child. I am sure the surgeon did not have twins in mind when he gave me the go-ahead. And here we are, 8 years later. My daughter just entered 4th grade and I am running after twin boys redefining the terrible twos, all while running a business...lots of running these days :) Life is crazy, beautiful and I am thankful for every second of it.
Having talked to many of you in the past, I know that you buy my jewelry as gifts to show your support to family and friends going through chemo, sugery and other difficult stages of life. I am forever thankful that you allow me and my jewelry to bring a tiny piece of comfort and hope. I added more styles to give as reminders to stay strong, keep on fighting end NEVER GIVE UP.
As always, I would love to hear your story and ideas. Feel free to contact me.
